I would also LOVE to hear your suggestions on specific paint colors and brands! What a great site! I am so glad I found you, I know I can learn a lot for all of you.īecause there is almost no color in what you have chosen for your bedroom, I am guessing that you wanted to have a very calming, monochromatic look, however, you are craving just a little bit more. I will take it all to heart and look forward to hearing any other suggestions you have about room arrangements, Oh and the curtains (will getting bigger rods and longer curtains). All the "stuff" in there are either family hierlooms or given to me and I have nowhere in my small house to put am definitely storing some of it away to clean it up. After looking at them I wish I would have stage the rooms more and got rid of that overly lived in look before plastering them on the internet! Oh well, the corner hutch will stay.
of the living room, dining area, and halls. But I am putting gray on the walls in my bedroom.as soon as I find one that doesn't turn lavender or blue! I would love the house to have a put together, cozy, yet not overly dark feel. I love, love the grays I have been seeing, but am not sure if that would fit in a more rustic style room. I also think a more rustic look would fit here, so like that idea. The rug is a deep red, brown, with some outlining in a sage color. Would really like to replace the paneling on the beam with a rustic wood, but am worried about it clashing with the floors (the color of the floor is called golden hickory, so its more yellow than red). I like a splash of red here and there, but don't want it to become overpowering. My style is everywhere, but I tend to gravitate towards the grayish greens, creams, taupes, and sometimes darker wall colors. Pay no attention to the two different lamps, thats a story for another time.LOL! Since the front entry, the living room, the hallway, and dining all adjoin, I would like to make the walls flow. I'm not loving the rug, it will probably be changed in the future.
The celings are vaulted, with a beam, but the beam is covered with the same paneling as the wall. I am going to try to get some pictures of the room in the daytime so that the pictures don't have such a yellow glow to them. I have already moved the rug under the couch and loveseat feet, and was amazed at how much difference that small step made. I see something in all of them that would help. WOW.I was so EXCITED to get to my computer and see all of you wonderful suggestions.
